Starting over

you GO girl! a change'll do ya good, right?
I dunno, one of my coworkers just said, "What's going on?" And I told her, and she was like, "In 28 years, I've only ever had one person ever care about me enough to try to help me advance my career. Only one person. In 28 years."

That just hurts my soul.
YAY!!!!! Congratulations!!!!
Your job sounded worse than one of my friend's jobs... you can read all about it here: http://bornperformer.blogspot.com (mostly having to do with dealing with people who fear change more than death itself).
Anyhow, didn't mean to sound like a linkbot there. I am so excited for you. This will be AWESOME.
[this is good]
I am SO PROUD of you!!!!

YAY!!

I just sat through an 8 hour meeting at work yesterday that was essentially all about this: YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR OWN CAREER. They stressed over and over and over how no one else is ever going to help you, and then gave a tour of the tools to help yourself. Which I totally get. But it was also surprising how many people kept asking the questions about 'well, isn't my manager going to tell me what to do?' as if your manager should determine your entire future. Don't be that person who works for 28 years and nobody helps you. That's b.s. and you are way too awesome for that. xoxo

we get cultured regularly on the same thing(s) that mia sez. so GOOD FOR YOU! for taking charge of your own life, future and self respect. i wish all the best for you. good things will come from this. =) xxooo

Yeah, I wasn't expecting a handout, but I think that good employees should be treated with respect and fairness, and if that's not the case, then it behooves me to MOVE THE FUCK ON. I was told today I'm on the interview list for another position here that I applied for. I'm not really interested in staying here, but I dunno, i'll go to the interview for the experience.

Great job! If only you could have a job saving kitties!

Good luck, Styro.
excellent idea to go to the interview for practice. may as well use them for something! :)

congrats on moving on to the next big thing!
