Kitteh Photos:
They are doing better every day. Last night they both let me hold them, turn them over and check out their bottoms so I could see what sex they are. Which is difficult with ANY kitten, but triply so with the feral bebbehs. They will do just about anything for a spoonful of pureed beef baby food, though, so I was successful in determining: Orange Boy, Tabby Girl.
Tabby Girl is hissing at me less each day, and this morning Orange Boy let me hold him and he didn't even tremble, he held his head up and looked around at everything! This is a pretty good sign. I have an appointment for them to meet the shelter manager on Thursday, so hopefully I can get them on the adoption sign-up sheet in a few weeks to a month. (I hope it doesn't take that long.)
I am going to take a little break from trapping right now, I'll offer my trap to anybody who wants to use it, but I'm stretched a little thin right now in terms of being able to check a trap every 2-3 hours, so I'll call this good deed done for now. I'll let some other kind soul take the helm for a bit while I catch my breath and get ready for next time.
oh, ps: Please, don't send more money, I've got a VERY GENEROUS donation to give to the shelter. Everybody who donated, I sent you a personalized thank-you note, I don't want you to think I forgot you. Thank you so much to everyone who helped. Friends, your kindness is overflowing and ceaseless. The kittens and the shelter are so grateful.

Aren't orangies boys like 99% of the time? Plus, he has a boy face.
True story: we thought Monkey was a girl (even the vet said "she") until one day he suddenly had nards. Oops. And now he is THE BIGGEST boy cat ever. And a great pillow.

per one of those sites: "You will get red females only when both parents have red, that means at least the female must be a tortie which is crossed with a red male. Of course you'll get red females when both parents are red." Another quote: "Only 1 in 27 orange cats are girls, and more surprisingly, only 1 in 3000 calico cats are males!"
The female in this case was a torti, and I saw dad last night, and he was a buff (red) male, so... I'm guessing she could possibly have had red girls?
I think you're right. The Punnett square is making me dizzy. How about that Lindsey Lohan?
In other news, how are the other furry critters in your house handling the sleepover guests?
