I am le dumb.
Since our bathroom is sort of close to being "done," I figured it was time for me to get in there and prime, then paint. So I primed, which took forever because the primer is really sticky and likes to pull itself back up if it's still wet, and it is SUPER stinky because we bought the "covers everything" brand because, well, the paint in the bathroom used to be oil, and I'm switching it to latex.
So the primer coat took me a long time to put up, because I had to keep taking breaks because of the fumes and let the primer fully dry in between coats, etc. It was very slow going. I finally finished it this morning, and went to Lowe's to get the tinted paint. We'd chosen this light green color, and at Lowe's I got all impulsive and ordered the paint two shades darker, thinking, "OOh, this'll look super dramatic against all the white trim!"
Uh, it did. In a terrible way. So I just spent the last forty minutes painting the dark color over with primer, AGAIN, and ran back to Lowe's to get the lighter green.
So if anybody needs a gallon of a sort of avocado colored latex paint in an eggshell finish, CALL ME.

i'll take that paint.
also, i have a post for you coming up. just for you..... hold on.
remodel question for you: how long are you letting the paint dry before you start showering in there?
i've been looking online and some people say you only have to wait 24 to 36 hours. while others say if you don't want any spots to show up in the paint, you have to wait 28 days for it to fully cure.
we're thinking we'll compromise and maybe go a couple of weeks...(we have a shower stall in the basement thankfully). what are your plans?
adam was of the same opinion - run a fan all day and call it good. the basement shower is well, a basement shower ;)
thanks!
