there is. there most definitely is :)
*sniff* you're going to have the nicest window seat with plush carpet and bird-adjacent viewing in all of Kittycat Heaven.
God this was an uplifting post!

that is AWESOME! you are so RULING!

my friend's kitty cat went to join maude at that tuna bar in the sky last weekend so we're having a wake for him on saturday. we will drink many guinnai in his honor and i'll probably get a little misty eyed over maude too...

crazy cat ladies are the best!

Yeah, the cats are all recovering now in their traps, having a little snack, sleeping off the anesthesia. Turns out all three females were pregnant. The SPCA employee said, "Well, that boy cat sure was busy!" I'm just glad we got them before they all had litters---Could you imagine? I think of all the cats we kept from a life on the streets, just by getting these ladies spayed. We still have a bunch more in the colony to fix, but at least we got off to a good start.
What an uplifting kitty post--just what I needed to cheer me in the midst of caring for my two post-surgery kitties.
Hey! I hope Fred & George heal up lickety-split. They are super cute though, and everybody knows about the healing powers of cuteness! :)
i think the nice old lady across the street from me is feeding a handful of feral kitties. they're pretty young and skulk off immediately if you even look at them sideways. i wish i knew the neighbor enough to ask if she's had the fixed. i'm fairly certain she hasn't though. what's the best thing to do? they're not a colony yet, but i'm worried they could turn into one.
I'm a crazy cat lady too, and it's one of the reasons I love reading your site.

God, I love you. You're good people, Styro. Good people.

Even the happy kitty stories get me blubbering :-P Way to go, Styro!
Pagalina, we'll talk. I've got 4 traps now, and I keep appointments at the SPCA... I can help ya get 'em fixed. Snip Snip! If they were fixed, most likely they'd have the top of their left ear clipped off flat. It's common practice with ferals: you can visibly identify them as being fixed, and it helps keep you from re-trapping the same cats. (Or, I guess, re-fixing them.)
I think someone might have taken my cat in before we adopted her from the street, because she's never gone into heat, and she has a little notch on her left ear. I think I've finally talked the bf into getting another kitty (ginger! with boots!), so I'll be taking her in again to get her checked for communicable stuff and I'll be going to the volunteer class at the local humane society to start volunteering (they have an award-winning rose garden!).
You are the awesomest for helping out all da kittehs, totally.
hmmm, i'll keep a look out to see if they're ears are notched. i haven't heard of anyone doing that in my neck of the woods, but i can peek. they're so evasive and slinky, they're a little difficult to get a good gander at!
Here's a good photo of a cat with a "tipped" ear. When we fix feral cats, we call it "Snipping & Tipping."
