Found the kittens...

there are three of them:  a torti like mom, a tabby like fatbutt and an orange tabby.  I get my trap back saturday morning after I let mom loose, I'm going to try to borrow 2 more so I can trap all the kittens at once.  They are older than the last batch, probably around 2 months old.  Probably too old to tame and make pets, but I hope not.  I'll try, and if it doesn't work, I'll spay or neuter them and re-relase them.

Yay! I knew they would make themselves known to you. And I always hold out hope, even for older kittens. Ruckus was like 5 months old when we got him and it took a lot of patience to get him to trust us -- but he did eventually and he is the sweetest baby of the whole world.

Yeah, I was really glad there were no solid-black kittens in this batch, they will be much more adoptable, even if they're shy. For some reason, lots of people do not want solid black cats. anyway, I hope these guys will tame easily (although I'm not holding my breath) and I hope I can get them into rescue, since that's a better option than trying to tame them, giving up, and doing neuter-release. Less kitties in the wild is a good thing.
